What We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed version of your password. When you connect your Yahoo Fantasy account, we store OAuth tokens to access your league data; when you connect Sleeper, we store your Sleeper username to look up your leagues. When you connect an ESPN Fantasy league, we store your ESPN session cookies (espn_s2 and SWID) so we can read your private league on your behalf — see ESPN Connection & Browser Extension below. Phone numbers you provide are used solely to deliver SMS recaps.

How We Use Your Data

  • Maintain your account and provide customer support

Fantasy Sports Reports is a free, fan-made project and does not process any payments, so we do not collect or store any payment information.

Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate:

  • Yahoo Fantasy API — to retrieve your league and matchup data (Yahoo leagues)
  • Sleeper API — to retrieve your league and matchup data (Sleeper leagues)
  • ESPN Fantasy — to retrieve your league and matchup data (ESPN leagues), using the session cookies you provide via our browser extension
  • Anthropic (Claude AI) — to generate recap content
  • Twilio — to deliver SMS messages

Each service has its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function. We never send your ESPN session cookies to Anthropic, Twilio, or any other third party — they are used solely to authenticate directly with ESPN on your behalf.

ESPN Connection & Browser Extension

ESPN does not offer a public login for third-party apps, so to read your private ESPN league we rely on your existing ESPN browser session. Our optional Chrome extension, the Fantasy Sports Reports — ESPN Connector, reads two ESPN cookies from your browser — espn_s2 and SWID — and sends them, over HTTPS, to your Fantasy Sports Reports account, together with a short-lived one-time link code you generate from your dashboard.

  • What the extension accesses: only the espn_s2 and SWID cookies on ESPN domains, and (optionally) ESPN's fantasy API to help you pick which league to connect. It does not read cookies for any other site, track your browsing, or inject code into pages you visit.
  • Local storage: the extension temporarily stores the link code you enter, only to complete the connection.
  • How we protect the cookies: once received, your ESPN cookies are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and are never displayed back to you, logged, sold, or shared with anyone.
  • What we do with them: we use them exclusively to authenticate with ESPN and fetch your own league's scores and standings to generate your recaps.
  • Removing them: click Disconnect on your dashboard at any time to delete your stored ESPN cookies from our servers.

Installing and using the extension is entirely optional and only needed for ESPN leagues.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a secured database. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We use HTTPS for all connections. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Your Rights

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. You can disconnect your Yahoo, Sleeper, or ESPN connection from the dashboard, which removes the stored Yahoo OAuth tokens, Sleeper username, or encrypted ESPN cookies respectively.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
